Speaking to MTV, the actor, who played the character Red Mist in the film, explained that time constrains are holding back the follow-up.
"I want to [do a sequel]," he said. "We all want to, we just have to find the time. We're busy people."
Rumours of a sequel to the superhero film emerged shortly after its release. Writer Mark Millar and artist John Romita Jr are currently at work on the comic book version of Kick-Ass 2, though it is uncertain whether the series will be adapted for the big screen.
Screenwriter Jane Goldman was previously thought to have been adapting the project, before she refuted such speculation.
Kick-Ass 2 #1 arrived in stores in December 2010. Issue #2 was released in March, three months later than originally scheduled.
