'Insidious' sequel in the works?

Insidious producer Jason Blum has hinted that a follow-up to the horror may be in the works.

The film centres on a family's race against time to stop their comatose child being trapped in a paranormal realm called 'The Further'.

"If [producer] Leigh [Whannell] comes up with a story that's inventive and you feel like there's a story to tell - as opposed to, 'Let's make another movie and make money' - and he comes up with something [director] James [Wan] feels is worth making we would do it. And if Leigh doesn't, we won't," he told Shock Till You Drop.

Blum added that collaborator Oren Peli had similar misgivings about making a sequel to the surprise hit Paranormal Activity.

However, he also made clear that there is "no plan" or release date set for a possible follow-up.

Blum is currently working on Paranormal Activity 3 and Area 51 with Peli.
