Reese Witherspoon wins MTV Generation Award

The Water for Elephants actress was selected to receive the prize in honour of being an actress "who can be counted on to engage the MTV audience with everything she does", according to a press release from the cable network.
Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller and Sandra Bullock are among the previous recipients of the Generation Award.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Inception lead this year's MTV Movie Awards nominees, while Black Swan and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 also received multiple nods.
Foo Fighters and the duo of Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz have been lined up to perform during the telecast.
Jason Sudeikis hosts the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, which air on June 5 at 9/8c from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
