Vince Vaughn and Catherine Keener are reported to have signed up to join the cast of Sean Penn's new film, Into The Wild.
Penn has written the script for and will direct the movie version of Jon Krakauer's book, which tells the tale of Christopher McCandless, who hitchhiked to Alaska and died of starvation four months later. The book is based on the diary and letters he left behind.
Vaughn will play a tow-truck driver friend of McCandless's (Emile Hirsch), while Keener will play a girl he picks up on his travels.
The movie is set for release in 2007.
