The classifications board refused to grant a certificate for the horror sequel's DVD release earlier this week, declaring it "unacceptable" for UK audiences. The BBFC objected to the protagonist's "total degradation, humiliation, mutilation, torture and murder of his naked victims".
Australian company Bounty Films will launch an appeal against the decision alongside their UK distribution partner Eureka Entertainment.
"In Australia the film has been granted a certificate with no cuts. We are extremely surprised therefore by the BBFC's decision," said Bounty managing director Tony Romeo.
Human Centipede II director Tom Six yesterday blasted the BBFC's decision, saying: "Apparently I made a horrific horror film, but shouldn't a good horror film be horrific? My dear people it is a f**king MOVIE. It is all fictional. Not real. It is all make-belief. It is art."
Six has claimed that he will complete a trilogy of Human Centipede films.
