Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Eliza Dushku has saved Sean Astin's latest movie from being scrapped by agreeing to play his love interest.
There was doubt that The Final Season was going to go ahead when shooting delays prompted a cast walk-out, though Dushku stepped in at the last minute to play Astin's love interest.
The film focuses on a baseball fan who gave up a job and ditched his wedding plans to take over as head coach of a high school baseball team.
Lord of the Rings star Sean Astin has remained faithful to the family movie and now filming will go ahead as planned, with Tom Arnold, Powers Boothe and Astin's brother Mackenzie joining Dushku.
