Elodie Yung linked to 'G.I. Joe 2' role

French actress Elodie Yung has reportedly joined the cast of Paramount Pictures' upcoming sequel G.I. Joe 2.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Yung has been cast as the G.I. Joe character Jinx, a young ninja girl that joins up with the team.

Yung is perhaps best known for starring in the French action film District 13: Ultimatum, but will soon appear opposite Rooney Mara in David Fincher's remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

The actress will join previously confirmed stars including Channing Tatum, Ray Park, and Byung-hun Lee, who are all set to reprise their roles from the 2009 original.

Earlier this week it was reported that Fast Five star Dwayne Johnson is in negotiations to join the project as heavy weapons expert Roadblock.

Paramount Pictures have so far declined to comment on both Yung and Johnson's involvement.

G.I. Joe 2 is tentatively scheduled for a release on August 10, 2012.
