According to a Twitter message from franchise star Thomas Ian Nicholas, Cho has already begun filming his scenes for the fourth American Pie entry.
"On the set of American Reunion with John Cho looking spiffy," Nicholas tweeted.
Cho starred in the original trilogy in the small part of John, the character best known for originating the phrase 'MILF'.
The actor has since become known for starring in the Harold & Kumar film series, as well as playing Hikaru Sulu in J.J. Abrams' 2009 Star Trek reboot.
Last month Shannon Elizabeth became the final main American Pie star to board the sequel, rounding out an ensemble cast that includes Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Chris Klein, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Alyson Hannigan, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Jennifer Coolidge, and Eugene Levy as Jim's dad.
Hannigan recently revealed that her character Michelle has had a child with Jim in the gap between the new film and 2003's American Wedding.
American Reunion is scheduled to launch in cinemas on April 6, 2012.
