The Mad Men actor spoke to Movieline about shooting The Adjustment Bureau, claiming that all the running around he had to do left him with a lasting injury.
"I chased Matt [Damon] around for days and weeks while he rode around in a cab flipping me the bird and I ran around in badly chosen street shoes," Slattery said. "Still suffering from that, I think. I got some horrible - I got something horrible from that."
The 48-year-old also discussed whether he believes he is perceived as a "throwback" actor.
"Oh, people project onto you all kinds of stuff. You put something out there and it happens all the time, especially in the media," Slattery said. "They cook up something the author and the actors had no intention of getting across. That's what it is! People project their own lives and live vicariously through your characters one way or another. It's really out of my hands."
Slattery is currently at work on bringing an adapted screenplay he has written to the big screen.
The actor previously described Mad Men as his "best job ever", claiming that he is continually impressed by the quality of the show.
