The Lost star will play the role of 'Parajumper', according to Bloody Disgusting.
Ed Harris (The Rock) is reportedly in negotiations to star in the highly-anticipated big-screen adaptation of Max Brooks's novel of the same name.
World War Z will feature Brad Pitt, The Killing's Mireille Enos, Adjustment Bureau star Anthony Mackie and The Pacific's James Badge Dale.
The film is set ten years after humanity triumphed over a zombie apocalypse and tells the story of those that survived the conflict.
Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster will helm the movie.
Fox recently signed on to portray the villainous assassin Michael Sullivan in I, Alex Cross opposite Tyler Perry.
The Lost star confirmed in February that he will not return to television, stating that TV takes up too much of his time.
World War Z is scheduled for a 2014 release date.
