Ben Affleck has been tapped to direct the Hollywood adaptation of Tell No One.

Based on the bestselling Harlen Coben novel of the same name, Tell No One revolves around a doctor who is suspected of killing his wife until he receives evidence that she may not be dead at all.

Affleck will helm an English-language version of the novel, which was previously made into a French-language film in 2008 by Guillaume Canet, reports Deadline.

The script will be written by Chris Terrio, the screenwriter behind Affleck's forthcoming CIA drama Argo.

The Dogma actor was recently rumoured to be in talks for a role in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby. However, Affleck reportedly dropped out of the film to focus on Argo.

Affleck just finished filming Terrence Malick's untitled project opposite Rachel McAdams. The Midnight in Paris actress described filming as a "great experience", stating that Malick is inspiring.

Tell No One will mark Affleck's fourth directorial effort.
