Christopher Nolan's superhero sequel allegedly welcomed Liam Neeson to the London set on Monday where he filmed scenes as villain Ra's Al Ghul.
Neeson filmed for the day before jetting off to New York for the premiere of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, reports HitFix.
Ra's Al Ghul appeared to die at the climax of Batman Begins, but in the DC Comics mythology the character has been resurrected in a chemical pool dubbed the Lazarus Pit.
The Social Network star Josh Pence has already signed up to appear as a younger version of Ra's.
Batman franchise mainstay Gary Oldman, who plays Commissioner James Gordon, recently revealed to Digital Spy that director Nolan brings the Dark Knight Rises storyline "back around" to Batman Begins.
Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard and Michael Caine will star in The Dark Knight Rises, to be released in cinemas on July 20, 2012.
