The first image of Tom Cruise as fictional rock star Stacee Jaxx has surfaced online.
Cruise himself tweeted a link to the image, taken from the actor's upcoming appearance in Adam Shankman's big-screen adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages.
In the image, Cruise appears topless in tight black jeans sporting a long glam rock hairstyle, as well as several fake tattoos.
Cruise's role in the film will require him to perform the Jon Bon Jovi track 'Wanted Dead or Alive', and Shankman has insisted that he will be performing his own vocals.
The 48-year-old Misson: Impossible star is joined in the film by Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta- Jones, Malin Akerman, Alec Baldwin and Bryan Cranston.
Rock of Ages is due in cinemas on June 1, 2012.
