Barrino to play self in life story movie

Fantasia Barrino is to play herself in a movie of her life story – overcoming poverty and sexual abuse to win American Idol.
The film – provisionally titled Life Is Not a Fairy Tale: The Fantasia Barrino Story - will be adapted from the singer's autobiography, Life Is Not a Fairy Tale.
Made for television, the film aims for an August airing and will be directed by Debbie Allen.
Barrino's parents Diane and JoJo will be played by Viola Davis and Kadeem Hardison, and grandmother Addie Collins by Loretta Devine.
