The actress will appear alongside confirmed cast members Penelope Cruz, Jesse Eisenberg and Ellen Page, Variety reports.
Bop Decameron is said to feature four vignettes, with Allen playing a husband in a couple who go to Rome to meet their daughter's new fiance.
It is the first time that the veteran director will appear in front of the camera since he played magician Sid Waterman in 2006's Scoop.
Cruz recently declined to give details of her role in the film, but admitted she was excited about working with Allen again after he directed her in Vicky Christina Barcelona.
Production on the feature, which will be Allen's 42nd movie, is due to begin in July this year.
Allen has described his current film Midnight in Paris as a love letter to the European city.
