The actor revealed that while he fully believes in the strength of the franchise's third instalment Transformers: Dark of the Moon, he was not surprised when the previous film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen failed to impress critics and audiences alike.
LaBeouf told E Online: "We didn't have a script the second time! It was like a two-hour SNL skit with explosions. We were sort of riffing."
He went on to describe the script of Dark of the Moon to be the "best [we've] ever received".
LaBeouf recently claimed that he has no plans to return to the Transformers franchise for another film and does not believe that director Michael Bay will either.
"It is still a hot property I think, especially coming out of the third one," he explained. "So I imagine they'll reboot it at some point with someone else."
