Jennifer Lopez joins 'What to Expect'

Jennifer Lopez has officially signed on to star in What to Expect When You're Expecting.

The American Idol judge was previously said to be considering a supporting role in the film alongside Cameron Diaz.

Lopez has now been confirmed as a member of the cast of What to Expect When You're Expecting, according to The Wrap.

Based on the bestselling pregnancy bible, What to Expect When You're Expecting tells the story of six different couples that are expecting a child, following them up to the delivery of their babies.

Confessions of a Shopaholic actress Isla Fisher signed on to the cast of What to Expect When You're Expecting earlier this week. The Hangover Part II's Ed Helms is in talks for the film as well.

Lopez recently revealed that she is still uncertain whether she will return to American Idol for another season. The 41-year-old is mulling over several options for the future, including doing a movie or going on tour.

What to Expect When You're Expecting is scheduled to open on Mother's Day weekend in 2012.
