Yeoh arrived at Rangoon airport in Burma earlier this week only to be deported later that day, according to Sky News.
The actress is on a blacklist due to her presumed support of Suu Kyi, a government official confirmed.
French director Luc Besson began working on a biopic about Suu Kyi's life earlier this year called The Lady, and started filming the project in Thailand.
The Nobel Peace Prize winner was released from house arrest in November last year after serving a cumulative sentence of 15 years because of her activism.
Yeoh previously visited the country in December last year to meet with Suu Kyi in preparation for the role.
The Lady is due out later this year.
