The English actress revealed to Esquire that her next movie role will be "possibly a Jimi Hendrix biopic" starring the musician.
The rapper, real name Andre Benjamin, has been campaigning for a Hendrix film since 2004, when he told New York Daily News that he would like to portray the two sides of the rock star.
"Jimi was wild on-stage," he said. "Off-stage, he was really calm."
A Jimi Hendrix biopic has been rumoured for several years, but has never been officially greenlit. Laurence Fishburne and Lenny Kravitz have been linked to the role in the past, while Jason Derulo revealed that he turned down an opportunity to play the singer.
A potential movie was blocked in 2006 after London's High Court ruled that its US film makers did not have the rights to the star's music or likeness.
Outkast are planning to release their seventh studio album in 2012.
