The Easy A star stated that she only became intimidated after learning how popular the superhero franchise truly is, The Advocate reports.
"Just because the scale is so large, doing Spider-Man is more daunting than I realised in the beginning," Stone said. "I've tried not to think about it too much - especially while we were shooting - but when you're sitting on these giant blue screens with all these rigs, it's the opposite of an environment like [former film] Superbad. It's odd, but it's very exciting."
The actress went on to confess that though she is afraid of letting Spider-Man fans down, she is excited to be involved in a movie with such a dedicated fan base.
"Spider-Man has this built-in fan base, where people already know the story and are going in with their own opinions and expectations, so you're either going to live up to them or let people down," Stone said. "But it's really all about passion, and I love passionate people."
The actress recently revealed that she refuses to talk about her private life. Stone is rumoured to be dating Amazing Spider-Man co-star Andrew Garfield.
Stone can be seen next in Crazy, Stupid Love opposite Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell and Julianne Moore.
