Transformers producer Don Murphy discussed the future of the franchise on his message board, TFW2005 reports.
"What happens next?" Murphy asked. "Certainly not a reboot. We haven't lost the Transformers... I don't know what happens next.
"I'm pretty sure there will be a second trilogy. I am pretty sure it will kick ass. And I am pretty sure some of you will hate it because it wasn't all bots."
It was recently rumoured that Jason Statham could replace Shia LaBeouf in Transformers to take the films in a new direction.
LaBeouf last week said that he would have "nothing new to contribute" to Transformers, but that he is sure more movies will be made.
