Will Forte joins Tom Cruise in 'Rock of Ages'

The Saturday Night Live actor will portray a network news anchor named Mitch Miley, an original role that was not a part of the stage musical on which the film is based, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In addition to Forte, Rock of Ages stars Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Bryan Cranston, Mary J. Blige, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Malin Akerman and Julianne Hough.
Rock of Ages centres on a small-town girl (Hough) who moves to Hollywood in the 1980s in the hope of becoming a star.
Hough recently praised Cruise's singing abilities, claiming that the Mission: Impossible actor received rave reviews from all of his Rock of Ages co-stars.
Cruise has previously tweeted a picture of himself dressed as his Rock of Ages character, fictional rock star Stacee Jaxx.
Rock of Ages is due in cinemas on June 1, 2012.
