LaBeouf revealed in a recent Details profile that he and Inception actor Hardy didn't see eye-to-eye while working on John Hillcoat's crime drama. After a heated altercation, The Transformers star said that Hardy "never did that roughhouse stuff with me again".
Hardy told Den of Geek: "I got knocked out by Shia LaBeouf, actually. In Wettest County, apparently."
Despite his statement being met with "incredulous laughter", the actor continued: "No, he did. He knocked me out sparko. Out cold. He's a bad, bad boy. He is. He's quite intimidating as well. He's a scary dude."
Describing how the fight came about, Hardy said: "He just attacked me. He was drinking moonshine. I was wearing a cardigan, and er, went down."
The 33-year-old revealed that he regained consciousness in the arms of his personal trainer Pnut.
He said: "[Pnut] was concerned for me. I was like, 'What was that? It was lightning fast'. And he said, 'That was Shia'. I said, 'F**kin' hell. Can we go home now?' 'No, we've still got three weeks to finish.''"
Hardy can next be seen starring opposite Joel Edgerton and Nick Nolte in Warrior, opening in cinemas this September. He is currently filming Batman sequel The Dark Knight Rises, in which he plays villain Bane.
