The Welsh actor has signed up for a role in the latest film in the James Bond franchise, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Details of the part are unknown, though Javier Bardem has been confirmed to play the villain.
Craig and Ifans previously appeared together in the 2004 adaptation of Ian McEwan novel Enduring Love, in which Ifans plays a stalker infatuated with Craig's scientist character.
The Mr Nice actor revealed in September that he had teased Craig to break the tension before their on-screen kiss.
Ifans said: "I spent the whole shoot winding up Dan Craig saying 'Only four days to go now, Dan darling, before our snogging scene'.
"Even now, after two Bonds, Dan still maintains that the hardest stunt he's ever done was getting to grips with my mouth."
