The Real Steel star said that he has been meeting with the film's director James Mangold in order to prepare for the highly-anticipated movie, which starts production in October.
"Script is done for Wolverine," Jackman told Access Hollywood. "I'm literally - this afternoon - going to be meeting up with the director James Mangold."
Jackman went on to confirm the film's start date, confessing that he cannot wait to return to the clawed character.
"We are shooting in October," Jackman said. "Very excited about it."
Jackman recently announced that The Wolverine will feature the Silver Samurai as an antagonist.
In June, it was reported that Mangold would helm the sequel to 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine after director Darren Aronofsky dropped out of the film for personal reasons.
