Val Kilmer joins thriller 'Breathless'

Val Kilmer is to star in the thriller Breathless.

The Batman Forever actor will join cast members Gina Gershon and Ray Liotta.

Breathless centres on a plot against Kilmer's character, who is wanted dead by his frustrated wife and her best friend.

Gershon is to take on the role of the murderous wife, while Liotta will be playing a local police sheriff.

Kilmer last week confirmed that he is to voice a specially created character in the game Spider Man: Edge of Time. He will be playing a villain called Walker Sloan in the video game created by Activision.

The star was last seen in Riddle and Kill the Irishman.

Kilmer has also signed on to play cowboy Wyatt Earp in indie The First Ride of Wyatt Earp, which has been described as Young Guns for a new generation.

Co-stars Liotta and Gershon appeared most recently in The Son of No One and Five Minarets in New York respectively.

Breathless director Jesse Baget's previous work includes Wrestlemaniac and cult comedy White Knight, starring Tom Sizemore.

He has co-written the thriller with screenwriting partner Stefania Moscato.
