The finale for JK Rowling's wizard series, which opened to a record-breaking £23 million, pulls in £8.5 million in ticket sales to claim the number one spot.
Pixar's latest release Cars 2, featuring the voice talents of Michael Caine and Owen Wilson, speeds into second place with £3.5 million. The total outpaces the £2.6 million collected by its predecessor Cars on its release in 2006.
