A limited release of the film on its opening weekend brought in $63,000 (£38,379) at ten screens. However, despite increasing to 14 screens the following weekend, the takings slipped 60% to just $24,664 (£15,027).
Box Office Mojo reports that The Undefeated grossed just over $100,000 (£60,930) from 13,000 ticket sales, which averages out at around 15 audience members per screening in its second week.
The film's producers have now announced that the documentary charting the career of Palin would be available to watch on pay-per-view and video on demand from September 1, with a DVD release in October.
Director Stephen Bannon claimed that the move was due to "overwhelming demand".
Julianne Moore will appear as Sarah Palin in the upcoming HBO Films adaptation of the 2008 election book Game Change.
