Nicolas Cage, John Cusack to star in 'The Frozen Ground'?

Nicolas Cage and John Cusack are said to be in discussions to star in The Frozen Ground.

The drama is based on the crimes of real-life serial killer Robert Hansen, Deadline reports.

Cusack would play a family man who kidnaps women and sadistically hunts them in the Alaskan wilderness. Cage would assume the role of a local state trooper who finds a survivor and, with her help, tries to get Cusack's character convicted for his killing spree.

Scott Walker will direct the script that he wrote. Production is due to start later this year in Anchorage, Alaska.

Cage was recently seen in Season of the Witch and Drive Angry, and will star in superhero movie Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

Cusack, meanwhile, starred in Hot Tub Time Machine last year. He has also signed up for the film adaptation of The Paperboy, replacing Tobey Maguire.
