Robinov has said that despite the lukewarm performance of Green Lantern earlier this year, there is still a big market for comic book adaptations.
"I don't believe there is superhero fatigue," he told The Los Angeles Times.
"Every year there are half a dozen or more horror films and comedies. Superheroes have become a genre of their own and, if you deliver, there's an audience."
Although a sequel to Green Lantern has yet to be given the go ahead, Robinov confirmed that Warner Bros already has an outline for the second instalment.
'[I want it to be] a little darker and edgier with more emphasis on action," he added.
Green Lantern star Ryan Reynolds has openly admitted that he would be interested in continuing his role as Hal Jordan in potential future instalments.
