The Salt star confessed that as she gets older, she finds herself less interested in being in front of a camera.
"[Acting is] like being in therapy, in a way," Jolie told the Financial Times. "You ask these questions as you grow up: am I strong enough, am I sane enough? Do I understand love, do I understand myself?"
She continued: "I'm older [now] and I know who I am. I'm less interested in the character helping me answer something … than in being able to answer it for myself, as a woman, as an adult, with my family."
In the same interview, Jolie announced that she and her partner Brad Pitt plan to scale down their work schedules in the future, saying that neither one of them wants make movies for the rest of their lives.
The 36-year-old recently revealed that her six children with Pitt are learning about their countries of birth, adding that the family is constantly planning trips to ensure that the children never forget their origins.
