Sofia Coppola's new film telling the life of French Queen Marie Antoinette using contemporary culture is to premiere this week at the Cannes film festival.
The film includes a comparison to Princess Diana and '70s and '80s music, according to the Sunday Times.
Oscar-winner Coppola's latest movie also draws a link between 18th century French monarchy and modern day affluence.
"I wanted the film to be credible but I was inspired more by the visual than historical facts," Coppola said. "I want people to be transported into another era with an echo of today."
