Based on Emily Bronte's iconic novel, the film stars Skins actress Kaya Scodelario as Catherine Earnshaw and unknown Leeds actor James Howson as Heathcliff.
The casting of Howson brings the movie closer to Bronte's original description of the character as a "dark-skinned gypsy in aspect and a little lascar".
Laurence Olivier starred as Heathcliff in a 1939 version of the story, while Timothy Dalton, Ralph Fiennes and Tom Hardy have also portrayed the character on screen.
Steve Evets, Oliver Milburn and Nichola Burley co-star in Arnold's Wuthering Heights, which will hold its world premiere at this year's Venice Film Festival.
