Gerard Butler to star in thriller 'The Bricklayer'

The actor will play a maverick FBI agent who is called upon to help his ex-colleagues stop a group committing increasingly high-profile kidnappings, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Enigma screenwriter Hanna Weg is writing the screenplay for the novel by former FBI agent Noah Boyd.
Butler's character will be working alongside a female FBI figure, but there are no details on the casting of the role.
The star will next be seen in Machine Gun Preacher and the ensemble comedy film Movie 43 co-starring Elizabeth Banks and Emma Stone.
Butler will also be taking a leading role in Ralph Fiennes's upcoming adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy Coriolanus.
