Stephanie Szostak to star in comic adaptation 'R.I.P.D'

Dinner for Schmucks star Stephanie Szostak is to appear in the upcoming adaptation of the comic series R.I.P.D.

The actress will star opposite Ryan Reynolds as the wife of his police officer, who is recruited to the Rest in Peace department after being murdered on duty.

Szostak's character can still sense her dead husband's presence as he continues to search for the man who murdered him.

Other cast members include Kevin Bacon and Jeff Bridges, who play an outlaw and Reynolds's jaded police partner respectively.

True Grit star Bridges replaced Zach Galifianakis after the actor was forced to drop out due to scheduling clashes.

Szostak is also currently attached to Cameron Crowe's We Bought A Zoo.

The film, co-starring Scarlett Johansson and Matt Damon, centres on a zookeeper who moves his young family out to Southern California in order to renovate a zoo.

Szostak previously appeared opposite Paul Rudd in the remake of French black comedy Dinner for Schmucks.
