Mark Wahlberg to play mobster in '2 Guns'?

2 Guns centres on a DEA agent and a naval investigator who are chasing each other for mob-related activities before they find out they have actually been stealing from the CIA.
The Fighter director David O Russell was previously attached to the project, with Vince Vaughn in line for the leading role, Deadline reports. However, both are thought to have departed.
The film has been described by Boom! Studios as a "lighthearted crime romp in the vein of Ocean's Thirteen and The Italian Job".
Wahlberg has been linked to several recent projects connected to Russell since he appeared in the director's Academy-Award nominated The Fighter.
The actor recently dropped out of Russell's The Silver Linings Playbook to take the lead in the upcoming Broken City.
He has also signed up to the comedy Good Time Gang and The Fighter 2.
