The 35-year-old Australian actor, who is best known for his roles in movies such as Terminator Salvation and Avatar, said that he wants to relax at home for a while and "enjoy the fruits of [his] labour".
Worthington told Us Magazine: "I haven't taken a break in four years. It's been a nomadic existence. It took loads of hard work to reach this point in my career. It wasn't as if I woke up one day and was doing movies."
The star, who split from stylist Natalie Mark earlier this year, was recently spotted in Los Angeles with a mystery blonde, believed to be his new girlfriend.
Worthington previously revealed that he does not consider himself to be "the most talented actor", but said that he works "a hell of a lot on [his] ethic". He has previously admitted that he "fell into acting" after starting out as a bricklayer.
He is scheduled to start filming surf movie Drift in Western Australia next week alongside Twilight actor Xavier Samuel.
