The first official picture of Leonardo DiCaprio in J. Edgar has been released.
DiCaprio stars as the controversial FBI director J. Edgar Hoover in Clint Eastwood's forthcoming biopic. The film follows Hoover from his childhood in Washington DC all the way to his death in 1972, with the actor using prosthetic make-up to portray the titular character throughout the film.
In the newly-unveiled picture, DiCaprio appears to be seated in a courtroom, pleading his case.

Eastwood spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the challenges of shooting a biopic based on Hoover: "He was a very private person, so nobody knew too much about him," he explained.
DiCaprio added: "I think that he was always an outsider. I think that's what this story is about, how he sort of lost touch towards the end of his life, to say the least."
In addition to DiCaprio, the film also stars Armie Hammer, Jeffrey Donovan, Ed Westwick, Judi Dench, Naomi Watts and Josh Lucas.
J. Edgar opens in cinemas on November 9 in the US and January 20 in the UK.
