T Bone Burnett, who is collaborating with Danny Elfman on the highly-anticipated movie's score and soundtrack, confirmed that the actress will be included on the film's accompanying album.
When asked if Lawrence had recorded anything for the movie, Burnett told MTV News: "Yeah, we did, and it was beautiful. She did great. She's singing great. Killer actor too."
Based on the book series by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games stars Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, a 16-year-old who is forced to compete against 23 other children in a televised death match.
The Grammy winner went on to reveal that the 21-year-old recorded a track titled 'Rue's Lullaby'.
"Yeah, we did that. We recorded that," Burnett said about 'Rue's Lullaby'. "And it'll be coming out soon."
Finally, Burnett revealed his enthusiasm for the project, saying that he enjoys the liberties the futuristic film allows him to take in terms of music.
"It's 300 years in the future, so we can take all sorts of liberties," Burnett added. "[Danny's] got an incredible space he's put together. It's the most incredible studio I've ever seen and he's got drums and marimbas and a cimbalom - just crazy instruments everywhere."
The Hunger Games opens in cinemas on March 23, 2012.
