Hemsworth, who reprises his role as the Norse God of Thunder in The Avengers, revealed that having an ensemble cast meant that they were all able to relax a bit more.
"Workload is a little better because it's spread across the team instead of you holding it all," Hemsworth told The Hollywood Reporter.
"It was actually a pretty tough shoot," Avengers co-star Robert Downey Jr added. "It was a very ambitious story and a long schedule, but nobody had to work too hard."
Downey Jr and Hemsworth are joined in the comic book epic by Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson and Tom Hiddleston.
The Avengers is currently in production and will open in cinemas on May 4, 2012.
