'Friends with Benefits' steals Australian box office number one

Friends with Benefits has topped the Australian box office this week.

The comedy movie, which stars Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, generated over $2.4 million in box office sales in its first week at the cinema, knocking last week's number one Green Lantern down to fifth slot.

Second place is filled by Australian-made movie Red Dog, which tells the story of a dog searching the Outback for its true owner. New entry Cowboys and Aliens lands third place, having made $2,037,954 in its first week in the cinema.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes fills the fourth chart spot, with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two dropping down to sixth place after making $756,945 in ticket sales.
