'X-Men' cracks 'Code' at UK box office
X-Men: The Last Stand proved a success at the UK box office last weekend, toppling previous chart-topper The Da Vinci Code.

The comic book adaptation took £7.09m in its first three days, topping Ron Howard's take on Dan Brown's controversial book, which earned £4.92m in its second week of release.

In third place was new entry The Wild, with fellow family-based affair Curious George debuting at fifth. Children's favourite Ice Age 2: The Meltdown took a hit, falling from fourth to eighth place .
