Elizabeth Banks: 'I get more attention as a blonde'

Elizabeth Banks has claimed that blondes really do have more fun.

The Our Idiot Brother actress, who wore a brown wig for the film, said that she gets more attention as a blonde than she does with darker hair.

"No-one notices me if I'm a brunette, but they do take you more seriously and let you play doctors and lawyers," Banks explained to Parade.

"It's totally scientific that the eye is drawn to light so when I walk around as a blonde, I just get noticed more than I do as a brunette. I find it really fascinating."

Banks went on to say that brunette hair was what worked best for her Our Idiot Brother character Miranda as it was better suited to her personality.

"It definitely came down to me as a brunette and frankly, I really wanted that haircut for her. I wanted Miranda to have the Anna Wintour-magazine Type-A haircut," she said.

Our Idiot Brother opens today in US theatres.

Banks recently insisted that becoming a mother will not keep her from continuing her acting career.
