New York City filming cancelled over Hurricane Irene fears

The city's Media and Entertainment Department told Entertainment Weekly that shooting scheduled for Sunday has been cancelled due to safety concerns.
Film and TV productions originally planned to film in New York tomorrow include a movie adaptation of hit play Bachelorette, starring Kirsten Dunst and Isla Fisher, as well as reality shows Hoarders and Clean House.
The Mayor's Office confirmed that the projects and an additional three small productions had already rearranged their schedules due to the presence of Hurricane Irene.
Sunday Broadway productions are still set to go ahead despite the severe weather warnings.
The Dave Matthews Band announced on Friday that two New York concerts planned for this weekend have been postponed due to Hurricane Irene's arrival.
New York-based star Sarah Jessica Parker declared yesterday that she is "battening down the hatches" of her home for when the tropical storm hits the East Coast.
