Zac Efron's 'The Lucky One' given 2012 release

The film, based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks, stars Zac Efron as a marine who attributes surviving three tours in Iraq to carrying around a photograph of a woman that he has never met.
The Lucky One follows the marine's efforts to seek out the woman in the photo after returning from war.
Sparks also penned the novels Dear John and The Notebook, both of which have been successfully adapted into Hollywood films.
Efron will next be seen opposite Hilary Swank, Ashton Kutcher and Lea Michele in Garry Marshall's romantic comedy New Year's Eve.
The Lucky One will be released in cinemas on August 24, 2012.
