The 'Love on Top' singer announced that she and husband Jay-Z are expecting their first child together while performing on the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.
Filming on A Star Is Born was to begin in early 2012, but an insider has confirmed to Deadline that Beyoncé's pregnancy "could push" the movie's start date significantly.
Eastwood and the movie's producers will reportedly use the delay to sign a top actor to star opposite Beyoncé in the story of a young starlet's meteoric rise to fame.
The original A Star Is Born was released in 1937 and later spawned a remake starring Judy Garland in 1954.
Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson both won Golden Globe Awards for their performances in a 1976 reboot.
Beyoncé confirmed her involvement in the latest remake in July and expressed excitement to work with Eastwood.
She said at the time: "Clint Eastwood? Can you believe that? I can't believe it still. When I met with him I was just in awe. I'm so, so honoured that he believes in me. And I can't wait to do this film.
"I represent this generation's talent and for me to be the chosen person, as an African American woman, is incredible."
