Mia Wasikowska has said that playing the part of Jane Eyre was physically "exhausting".
The actress takes on the lead role opposite Michael Fassbender in director Cary Fukunaga's new adaptation of the classic novel.
"I was just so struck by Jane's sense of self. She doesn't compromise herself for anybody. I have a really supportive family, but she hasn't had anyone cheering her on at all," Wasikowska said.

The star went on to describe the shoot as "quite physical a lot of the time, and very emotional, all the time".
"I don't sleep very well in general, but I would be falling asleep any ten minutes I had. In the make-up chair, I'd be [falling asleep] while they were trying to fix up my eyebrows," she added to The Guardian.
Wasikowska has described the titular heroine as a "modern woman" who would be "running Parliament" if she was in contemporary society.
