The actress told Digital Spy that the new thriller, filmed in Scotland, gave her the opportunity to play an action hero after a recent run of dramas and comedies.
George said: "Sometimes I take a movie selfishly because it's a female lead. [Alison] is sexy, dynamic, she's action-packed, she's tough, she's physical. Instead of just playing a boring role, this was just a great break.
"I'd been doing In Treatment, which was in one room with two actors, I was doing Grey's Anatomy, a comedy with Mandy Moore and Martin Freeman. I just thought, 'I want to be an action hero. Let's go for it, Scottish Highlands here we come!'"
