Writing partners David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith have signed a two-year deal with Warner Bros that will see them producing a number of new projects, including a follow-up to the 1988 Tim Burton film, Deadline reports.
Grahame-Smith has penned the script for the Johnny Depp movie Dark Shadows, as well as the novels Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Meanwhile, Katzenberg has worked as a producer on The Hard Times of RJ Berger.
"We first got to know Seth through his fantastic work on Dark Shadows, and it immediately became a priority to expand our relationship with him," said Warner Bros production president Greg Silverman of the deal.
He continued: "Seth introduced us to David, who greatly impresses us with the vision for KatzSmith from the very first meeting. We firmly believe in their talents and are extremely excited to welcome them to the Warners family."
The original Beetlejuice starred Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis.
