Melissa George has revealed that she got stuck up a mountain while making new thriller A Lonely Place to Die.

The Golden Globe-nominated In Treatment star told Digital Spy that she found herself stuck in a hail storm during filming in Scotland.

She said: "There was one moment where I was laughing because I was on the side of a mountain and hailstones came.

"They were so large that they couldn't get me off the mountain so I just said, 'No, it's fine, just give me a piece of plastic. I'll put it over my head.' I just hugged the rock and waited an hour for it to pass."

Asked whether she had tried Scotland's signature dish haggis, George replied: "I don't eat meat. They kept giving it to me at every single cafe, they were so proud, 'Here try this!' They would put it onto my plate and I would scoop it onto a napkin and they'd come back and it'd look like I ate it.

"It happened every single day and I'd have to go and toss it. I didn't eat [haggis], I hear it's wonderful!"
